Baraka’s practice focuses on transactional and regulatory matters in the extractive industries with particular expertise in mining and oil and gas. He advises on project finance, contract negotiations, project-related environmental and regulatory matters, easements, tenures, impact benefit agreements, capacity funding agreements, environmental litigation, as well as, financing and acquisition of mineral resource properties. Baraka is a recognized trainer and works with clients to assist them in developing effective and ethical compliance processes for their organizations. Apart from the extractive industries, Baraka has deep experience advising clients in a range of other different industries including, Banking, Energy, Media, Telecommunications, Manufacturing, Healthcare, and Real Estate.
